Field of Activity

Script-writer
"I want to talk about the first Curdish political film Min Dit - The Children of Diyarbakir. I wrote the script together with my cousin Miraz Bezar. He told me about his experiences and I told him about mine and then we combined the two to make something new. Miraz was brought up in Germany and he really wanted to make a film about the conflicts. And he managed it. With local men and women acting, with limited resources and with children traumatised by the war. It is the story of Diyarbakır, which would only be recognised by those who had experienced it.
The way the film came about was an interesting process for us. There were unexpected reactions from unexpected places. The period in which the film takes place made us reflect about previous Curdish films. Our film tells the story of two children who lost their parents during the fightings.
The first showing of the film took place in Spring 2009 in Diyarbakir. At the 46th Altın Portakal Film Festival in Antalya it won the Behül Dal special jury award."
